Your skin is an organ just like any other in your body. It protects you in more ways than you can imagine. It also has the remarkable ability to absorb whatever you put on it into the muscles and blood stream. To an extent anyway. Why else do you think balms for pain work? This is one of the main reasons you should seriously consider switching over to all natural cosmetics.
All regular cosmetics today have several harmful chemicals as key ingredients. And there is no committee or regulatory body to monitor the actions and test the claims of cosmetics companies. Can you imagine what this means? Basically, a cosmetic company can market toxic waste as beauty treatments and get away with it. And if you’re thinking, “Well, at least the stuff in there is not toxic,” boy, are you in for a surprise.
I used to think that too. That if it were really bad for me, it would show in some way. That the ill effects would manifest and I would be forced to see the evidence for myself.
But here’s the thing. The amount of chemicals used in a particular product is minimal by itself. However, when you use it every single day of your life and for years together, the toxic stuff will build up in your body and somewhere down the line the negative effects will suddenly crop up. You will not even realize at that point that it’s your long-term use of cosmetics that did it. Most people do not make the connection between ill health and chemical-based cosmetics. But then, most people do not know any better.
So what’s the Difference with all Natural Cosmetics?
All Natural cosmetics contain ingredients that are derived from natural sources. Plant extracts especially are frequently used. And when was the last time you heard that plants were bad for you?
When you switch from regular to natural, you will see the difference for yourself. If, like me, you are prone to breakouts or rashes or have sensitive skin that gets irritated for no reason at all, then these effects will be minimized when you begin using natural products. It is the harsh chemicals in products that cause these symptoms in the first place.
These symptoms are not your basic itches and scratches. Consider these reported effects of cosmetic use – hormonal changes, asthma, severe headaches, complications during pregnancy, cancer, dizziness, allergies, problems in the reproductive system, irreparable damage to skin and eyes. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.
Something else you should know about non-natural cosmetic products. Since they are chemical based, the companies that manufacture them are not sure whether or not it will suit humans. So they test it on animals first.
The tests are cruel and brutal. The animals are helpless victims to human greed and vanity. The companies justify these experiments with our vanity. If we did not want the products, there would be no need to manufacture them and then test them in this unjust way.
