The Rising Story of Organic Cosmetics Brands

All of us want to look good or rather look our best. For centuries people have been working hard at looking their best. Cosmetics and organic cosmetics brands have a very long history.

I am sure most of you would have seen pictures of the painted faces of the Ancient Egyptians. Don’t they look striking? And that was indeed their intent. They believed very strongly that “cleanliness is next to Godliness.” Egyptians also came up with innovative ideas, and cosmetics were one of those. It would be hard for you to believe if I say that around fifteenth to tenth centuries BC, they had cosmetic products that would get rid of stretch marks, scars, and wrinkles.

Cosmetic industry became established in the twentieth century. After that there has been no looking back.

Rise of Organic Cosmetics Brands

The story of organic and natural cosmetics is a story of success. How did the idea of organic and natural cosmetics rise?

Most of you must be aware of this old saying “Beauty is dangerous.” But only recently very few of us realized us that the products we use to enhance our beauty may not be as safe as we thought. Women have unknowingly used dangerous chemicals like mercury, arsenic, lead, and formaldehyde as beauty products throughout history.

Egyptians had wonderful imaginations with such neurological damaging ingredients. Even deadly white lead was used to whiten faces. Thus there were many deaths and disfigurements. Even the dangerous lead was used for face powders. Less than 80 years ago, Lash Lure mascara was introduced which contained p-phenylenediamine. This is an untested chemical that causes blistering and ulceration of the eye, which leads to blindness and sometimes death.

So don’t you think these dangerous chemicals are really a threat when they are used for cosmetic purposes? Is there an alternative?

This necessity has led to the use of all-natural and all-organic ingredients in cosmetics. Natural skin care has its roots in the 4th millennium BC in the Middle East and China. Different natural skin care treatments were developed to suit a variety of skin conditions. People who have unique skin types have turned to natural skin care solutions.

Some natural skin care ingredients include rose hip seed oil, safflower oil, jojoba, beeswax, aloe vera, tea tree oil, and chamomile. Many of these natural ingredients can be combined and can be tailored to suit individual’s skin type or skin condition.

These organic cosmetics brands have been proven to be beneficial to the human skin and that too without any adverse effects unlike the ordinary cosmetics. People have become aware of the hazardous chemicals being used in the ordinary cosmetics. All of us are concerned about our health and hence people are a bit hesitant to use common cosmetics. Hence the use of these natural cosmetics has grown considerably. People prefer natural organic cosmetics to ordinary cosmetics for obvious reasons. Thus, the organic cosmetic market has grown considerably.

Let us all switch over to organic cosmetics. Reap the benefits and market these kinds of cosmetics.
