The answer to this question is not easy. And there is no definite answer either. I’m not saying this to try to evade the topic. I’m saying it because there are so many factors to take into consideration when talking about organic natural makeup.
Natural and organic products work very well for me. I have very sensitive skin. So for me, natural makeup is a blessing. I used to breakout a lot before and my skin would either get very oily or very dry. I could never quite figure it out. But with organic makeup, I find that my skin maintains a healthy balance of oil production, I do not get pimples anymore, and my face looks smoother and cleaner.
This may or may not be your experience. As I mentioned earlier, there are various things to take into account before you can judge.
Choosing Your Organic Natural Makeup
You already know this – since organic and natural are popular catchwords today, many companies will slap that word onto their labels and into their product literature just to get your attention. Most of the time it is untrue. Do a little digging into the ingredients and you will learn that most of them are chemical-based.
There are no guidelines that cosmetics companies have to follow in order to call their products organic. I know, it’s unfair. But claiming to be misled is no excuse. Take the initiative and do your homework. If you don’t care about your own health, don’t expect anyone else to.
Individual Health and Skin Type
Even if a product is truly organic, there is no guarantee that you will take well to it. You may have unknown food allergies which cause reactions, and you may blame this on the products you use. This kind of generalization will make you shy away from using organic natural makeup altogether.
The results will also depend on the kind of products you buy. For example, if you do not know your skin type and you buy makeup that is not suited to your skin, you will obviously think that organic makeup does not work and you will switch back to regular cosmetics.
How Long you Use the Makeup
We all want things to work immediately on the spot. The same goes for organic makeup. If we do not see results that we want immediately, we dismiss it as inefficient or bad. Many women that I know have told me that they tried it but it just ‘wasn’t for me’. When I asked how often they used the makeup, their replies were almost the same – once or twice.
Here’s the thing about organic and natural stuff. Nature does not work at lightning speed. She takes her time. And this quality transfers to natural products too. You have to consistently use a product for at least a month or two before you begin to see results.
Yes, I know that is a long time to wait in a world conditioned to instant gratification. But believe me when I say that the results last.
