The dream of beautiful long hair is something that most of us can only imagine. I’ve tried time and again to grow my hair long, but I normally give up after a while, either because the growing hair gets damaged, or it’s just not growing fast enough! I went looking for advice on how to grow hair and realized that the most effective treatment is right at home and it’s quite easy too!
The most important factors that affect hair growth are nutrition, lifestyle and overall health. If you can take care of these, I assure you that those beautiful Rapunzel tresses are within your reach.
Tips On How To Grow Hair Faster
The importance of a balanced diet and adequate nutrition cannot be stressed enough, as the health of your body affects the health of your hair. Make sure that your diet is rich in protein, iron, omega 3 fatty acid and vitamin B12. This means that you must include eggs, meat, soya, fish, green leafy vegetables and healthy nuts like walnuts. Everything that you eat is absorbed by your body and these are essential ingredients for strong and healthy hair.
One of my Indian friends told me that there is a very common practice in her country for how to grow hair faster. The fact that she has beautiful hair that falls to her legs convinced me that she knew what she was talking about! Her advice was to massage hot oil into the scalp regularly, at least twice a month. This promotes circulation to the head and also provides extra nourishment. I like using almond oil or olive oil, but you can use coconut oil too. Just heat it by rubbing your oiled palms together, or stick it in the microwave for half a minute.
Use a mix of vinegar and water to remove chemical residue and pollution from your strands. Mix equal amount of vinegar (any kind) and water and thoroughly rinse your hair and scalp with it. Vinegar neutralizes any leftover soap, as well as the buildup from the regular use of chemical products. Pollution from the air tends to stick to our hair, which is also taken care of by this simple solution.
Keep your hair and scalp clean, but use lukewarm or cold water, as hot water tends to dry out your hair. Shampoo and condition your tresses regularly, as dirt and oil from your skin can cause the hair follicles to get clogged, which leads to slower hair growth. I’d also suggest changing the covers on your pillows at least once a week because they can cause clogged pores if they are dirty.
Use natural products on your hair, as chemical based hair products may be causing damage and slow growth. Try mashing an avocado and applying the pulp on your hair. Leave it on for 30 minutes, then shampoo it off with a mild shampoo. Avocado is an amazing natural conditioner!
If these tips help you to get the long hair of your dream, I’d love to hear about it. Let me know whether they worked for you!
