I am excited. Why not, Christmas is just around the corner. I have already decided on my Christmas dress, shoes, make up and all, but am not able to decide which hairstyle will complement my looks. My hair is showing all the signs of a hectic, stressful life. It is no longer lustrous. So, I decided to find out how to get healthy hair before Christmas.
Tips on How to Get Healthy Hair
I visited my doctor friend who gave me some brilliant tips on how to get healthy hair which are as follows:
- Hair needs to be strong from inside and hence just using good shampoos or expensive hair products is not enough. Healthy diet will make your hair healthy. You must include protein rich fruits and vegetables. If your hair is very weak biotin supplements twice a day will be very helpful. However, take your physician’s advice before starting biotin supplements.
- As every machine needs oil to work properly, your hair too needs oil. You should massage your head minimum once in a week with essential oils or coconut oil. The head massage calms your nerves and this stimulates hair growth. It also helps in maintaining the natural oil balance of the hair.
- If you have to wash your hair with a shampoo, you must use only organic shampoo. Apply pack of egg yolk or aloe before washing your hair. You will get soft, shiny hair with this pack.
- If you suffer from dandruff, before applying chemical loaded shampoos, try this pack which you can make in your kitchen. Soak a handful of fenugreek in water overnight. Make a paste of it and apply on your hair. Alternately, you can use a paste of lemon rind or curds too. Keep this on for an hour and then wash it off. There will be no trace of dandruff.
- If you suffer from split ends, you should go for regular trims. Split ends do not allow the hair to grow in length.
- Avoid harmful colours on your hair. Colouring your hair too often will make the roots of your hair weak. Similarly, ironing, perming and using drier too often will harm your hair.
- Allow your hair to breathe by keeping it open or with loose braid. Tight hairstyles are not advisable too often.
- You should not shampoo your hair every day. Twice in a week is more than enough. Also while rinsing the shampoo off, do not use hot water. Water should be either normal temperature or lukewarm.
I decided to follow all these tips sincerely and got healthy, shiny hair just in time for Christmas. My friends noticed a change too in my hair.
