A few years back, I clearly remember, temporary hair removal was only-just-possible. Today, due to advancement in technology, hair removal is a common indulgence. Lifestyles get affected adversely with excess hair on the face and it gets necessary to remove this excess unwanted hair. My experience of the slightest show of hair beneath the chin tells me of the gender-defining fanatics we are! It is not just women today, but even men who desire permanent hair removal.
Shaving And Laser Permanent Hair Removal:
These days a body void of hair is considered to be good and sexy. Thank God our cave dwelling ancestors are not around anymore, when being hairy was probably the synonym for sexy! The metro-sexual appearance has replaced the burly, hairy appearance. A hairy body was considered manly once upon a time but now it has become a cause of embarrassment. My research reveals that in the last decade, hair removal by laser has doubled in popularity due to its effective results. Even though people still shave, the aftermath cannot be ignored.
Manual Attempts To Permanently Bid Adieu
Before, only light skinned people with dark hair were advised hair removal via laser. But now a larger segment of people are interested to get rid of the excess body hair. Laser hair removal is not the only way of addressing this need in my opinion. Unwanted hair can be removed on a temporary basis too. But you have to be patient, and enduring. Plucking hair manually (beat the pull!); shaving, waxing, electrolysis and using depilatory creams are other effective methods of hair removal being used by both men and women. Manual plucking is scarring, and only brings on faster re-growth and hair follicle activation.
Permanence Of Permanent Removal:
A hair removal solution that claims permanent respite, like laser, is effective over large and small body areas. Not that you will have the blunt hair ends that are thick enough showing on the skin, if not done with professional care, I have come across cases of scarring and miscalculated hairline results. Marks and stubborn in-growths are a concern for some. But one thing is for sure, you can get over these with repeated sessions as prescribed and permanently bid adieu to sticky sugaring or waxing and to the not-so-friendly razor…most marks are from instances when the razor is not even in use! Laser now addresses skin areas
- o Arms
- o Underarms
- o Legs
- o Face
- o Bikini lines
- o Eyebrows
Slow But Effective Electrolysis:
Electrolysis is a tried and tested permanent hair removal method too, but you need to be careful about scarring and thermal burns (as bad if not worse than the razor’s edge). It is a more practical but slow hair removal process. Better slow than sorry, right? The fact remains that human ingenuity has given us one of the most important hair removal processes – laser, which is being used since 1996 and has proved to be the most effective so far.
