Everyone gets acne at some point in life. There are very few whose faces have not been marred by an ugly pimple. Contrary to what we are told, teenagers are not the only ones affected by acne. Many adults regularly break out throughout their lives. This is because of lack of sleep, bad nutrition, no exercise, stress, pollution, and unhygienic habits. In some cases, acne may be caused by hormonal imbalances.
If you suffer from acne, there is good news – you don’t have to suffer your whole life. But instead of buying over-priced, over-hyped products, the answer lies in your kitchen. There are many home skin care remedies that you can employ in your fight against acne.
Acne Skin Care
Baking Soda: Any expert on home remedies will tell of the versatility of baking soda. And this simple kitchen ingredient can also help you get rid of a pimple or keep your acne under control. Mix two table spoons of baking soda in just enough water to form a thick paste. Wash your face with cold water, then apply the paste in generous proportions all over our face. You will feel a tingly sensation, especially on the areas of your skin that are affected by acne. Leave on for five minutes and wash off. You can gradually increase the amount of time you leave it on as your skin adjusts to it.
The baking soda will dry up the pimple, and it will be gone in a couple of days, leaving hardly a trace behind. But don’t overdo it. Use only once a day, preferably before going to bed.
Baking soda also tightens pores, thus doing its bit to prevent further breakouts
Face Packs: A face pack made of gram flour or lentil flour with turmeric is an age-old remedy that has been handed down for generations in India. Use only half a teaspoon of turmeric, and as much flour as you need to cover your face.
You can also use a face pack made of fuller’s earth with potato juice if you have oily skin or milk if your skin is dry. Leave on for twenty minutes and wash off with cold water. Use a toner after to lock in the healing effects of the face pack.
To avoid pimples, maintain a regular skin care routine that is suitable to your skin type and avoid touching your face as much as possible.

I explored your site after realising that Aloe Vera is a good skin care agent.
My son and daughter in law brought a plant back from Lanzarote 3 years ago and this plant has thrived and grown larger – in fact it is no longer nice to look at!!!
Today, I cut off three dead leaves to find that two were not dead but bleeding juice from the cut. Looking up Aloe Vera, I see that I may have the answer to my own skin problem which is blocked pores. These are not just blackheads but blocked pores that I cannot express until the pore hole is visible when a hard small white pea-type lump comes out followed by some white residue and some blood. The Beauty Salons don’t want to know! I find this embarrassing at my age (70) as I don’t know where to go apart from a Dermatology Clinic and I think they would charge a lot of money for results which I cannot check up on. Would you recommend Aloe Vera as a trial? I think I will try the juice from the leaf I kept in the kitchen today. It has stopped bleeding so maybe I can open it again tomorrow or later tonight and rub it on my skin. Let me know what you think please. Best regards
Freda
Hi Freda
I would suggest getting your skin looked at by a doctor before rubbing anything on it, better be safe than sorry is my moto!
