Cosmetics are used by almost all of us. I hope you are aware that the cosmetic products and their ingredients are tested on animals first. The animals suffer from ulcerated bleeding and pain because of these tests and mostly, the animals are usually euthanized after the procedure. There has been a widespread protest campaign against this procedure of animal testing.
It is very difficult to find a list of cosmetic companies that do not test on animals. Because there are many false claims made by the companies and it is difficult to rely on any information.
List of Cosmetic Companies That Do Not Test on Animals
The list of companies that don’t have animal testing is huge. Only a few are listed here. The companies included in the list claim that their products are not tested on animals. These are just a few companies to mention. Detailed list could be seen at www.peta.org.
- ABBA Products
- Aura Cacia
- A Mano Bath
- Abra Therapeutics
- Absolute Miracle
- Adorn Mineral Cosmetics
- Alexami Cosmetics
- Ainterol Natural Products
- Bobbi Brown
- Bonne Bell
Apart from the above, there are few companies that observe a moratorium on animal testing, i.e. the company is does not engage in animal testing at present, but may elect to do in the future. Some examples of such companies are Bic Corporation, Braun (Gillette Company) and Mary Kay Cosmetics.
From Where to Buy Products?!
Now you know that apart from cosmetic companies whose products are animal-tested, there are cosmetic companies that do not test on animals also. It is up to you and I to choose from where to buy products. Obviously animal lovers would not like to use the products that are animal tested. Not only animal lovers, but I think all of us should protest against animal testing. If all of us take a resolution to buy products from companies that do not have animal testing, then this problem will slowly get resolved.
But on the other hand, scientists claim that even they are affectionate towards animals. They pose the question “Aren’t human lives more precious than animal lives?” They say that these procedures should continue until proper alternative testing methods are available.
The sole responsibility of the safety of the cosmetic products is of the manufacturer itself and not of the government. Though there are different testing methods available, in reality, there are no suitable alternatives available for some types of tests. Until there are suitable alternatives, the procedure of animal testing should not be banned.
But I would say, let’s all buy products from companies that DO NOT TEST on animals!!!
