The present trend among people is going for braided looks. I see lots and lots of people, irrespective of the gender, who prefer braiding hair. In fact sporting braided hair styles is the present day trend for both men as well as women. A few weeks back I too, joined the braided bandwagon. I read a statistical study which revealed since 2010, the braiding hair has become very popular with people of all generations, since then a number of designs are done for this braiding. From my own personal experience, I found braiding very convenient, to preserve especially in sultry climate. The damp weather conditions make people to discard the concept of curling, straightening, ironing, etc and adopt the simple and comfortable hair braiding.
Different Types Of Braided Hair Styles
There are a number of styles, by which the hair can be braided. Some of the popular new looks of the season are Basket weave, Cornrow and Close Braids. Let us see them in brief.
Basket Weave
I had my hair braided in this style. It kept me very cool, which I realised, when I went outdoors. My hair was braided with extensions, so that my natural hair got more spans. My hairdresser, after braiding my natural hair strands, burned the ends with a lighter. In this style, the hair is woven from the back, in such a wave it gives a basket like look. This process is continued, till it reaches the middle of the head. The hair dresser takes the leftover hair from the back and front to made it into a bun on top of my head. The hair style was off my neck and it remained intact, until I loosened my hair. I simply fell in love with this comfortable and stylish hair style.
Cornrows
Nowadays, a lot of men wear more cornrows than woman. My friend Jack is one among them. He has a craze for the braided hairstyles. He has been sporting the Cornrows for the past few weeks. Previously the style was normally straight back, but in the present cornrows fashion, a lot of modification has been done, like zigzag, backward and sideways pattern. These types of styles take a great deal of time to finish. I really wondered how Jack had that much of patience to have his hair braided. By nature he is a restless person. Since he had his cornrows braided by a professional, he looked good.
Close Braids
Likewise the close braid should be done properly. My friend Sandra, sports this close braid. Her hair was braided in such a way, that not even a tiny portion of her bald was revealed. The hairdresser who worked on her hair accomplished the task, with hair extensions; she was smart enough to finely part the natural hair prior to adding extensions. After the hair dresser parted the hair from the front of Sandra’s head to the back in tiny sections, the set of Sandra’s hair ultimately fell into place. But as a downside of this style, Sandra was not able to add her desired designs to her hair.
