Cosmetics are an inevitable part of any woman’s life. Conditioners for hair, serums for frizz control, lotions and creams for soft skin, gels to prevent aging, and hundreds of makeup items to help you look beautiful. A large portion of my expenses each month include only beauty products. And I am pretty sure I am not the only one.
Anyways, I figured that if you are like me and you use tons of cosmetics on a regular basis, then you probably have some concerns about the quality and safety of the products you use. I have been researching and using makeup and cosmetics for many years now. And I recommend natural cosmetics products for better quality and ensured safety even with long-term use.
The Advent of Natural Cosmetics Products
Natural cosmetics have been around for a very long time, but it is only in recent years that the trend has gained momentum. Today, natural cosmetics industry thrives like never before.
In the last fifteen years or so, the world received a shock in the form of global warming. That has caused a lot of people to remember that we are responsible for what happens to the planet; that what we do directly affects the ecology of the natural system.
This led to the creation of a way of thinking that still holds strong today. People decided that it was time to stand up and take responsibility by boycotting or minimizing the use of products that were not good for the planet. And this in turn led to the creation of a gap in the cosmetics market which the industry rushed to fill in.
And so, natural cosmetics products were introduced in the market. They got off to a rocky start as consumers – though aware, yet vain – were unsure of how effective natural products would be. But natural cosmetics proved to be quite a hit and today you will find as many natural cosmetics on the shelves of the department store as regular cosmetics.
The Popularity of Natural Cosmetics
Natural cosmetics are made of only natural ingredients from plants, minerals, and the sea. No animal sources whatsoever are used. And no animal testing is done either.
They are quite the rage with the younger generation, who are undoubtedly more concerned about their health and the condition of the planet. These cosmetics are also a hit with those who want to be seen as being sympathetic to the latest trends. So rather than using these natural products for the right reasons, there are many who simply choose natural because of nothing more than glorified peer pressure.
But if you come to think about it, it really does not matter why someone is using natural cosmetics. The fact that they are is a big deal in and of itself. Most great changes begin on a small scale. Not only are natural products good for you, but they are biodegradable and do not destroy the planet like most other products on the market do today.
